Retaining Wall Repair in Howard, WI

Green Bay Retaining Walls works Howard, Wisconsin. We repair and rebuild retaining walls, replace timber walls with block, set boulder and stone walls, correct wall drainage, and terrace slopes. We hold a Wisconsin license and full insurance.

Howard covers a lot of different ground. The village lies mostly in Brown County with a corner in Outagamie County, and the bay forms its eastern edge. Duck Creek runs through it, and the old name for this area came from that creek. The terrain is described the way it behaves: gently sloping open ground, wooded lowland, wetland, and hills. Four stone quarries once worked the Duck Creek ground, so rock sits close to the surface in places. That mix means one wall here backs onto wet lowland soil and the next one backs onto rock with a thin cover over it.

Each of those needs a different answer, and both need the water handled. Wet lowland backfill stays loaded long after the rain stops. Rock close behind a wall funnels every drop that lands upslope straight down to the back of the block. In both cases we open the back, replace whatever dirt is packed against the units with clean angular stone, and lay a perforated pipe in a sock at the bottom of that stone. The pipe runs on a slight fall to daylight. A pipe that stops inside the backfill fills a bathtub behind your wall instead of emptying one.

Water that arrives from above the wall gets cut off before it ever reaches the backfill. A shallow swale, a surface drain, or a downspout moved off the top of the hill does more than any patch on the wall face.

We build with Keystone Hardscapes units, pinned course to course and capped with adhesive.
